NITA LAKE LODGE - WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

July, 2022

Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, British Columbia, describes itself as:

welcome to nita lake lodge
experience a true mountain retreat at our whistler resort

Memorable experiences are regular occurrences at Nita Lake Lodge, a boutique retreat in the mountains of Whistler, BC. The moment you step into our resort lobby, you’ll know you’ve arrived somewhere special – a place of warmth and authenticity, where smiles are genuine and service is infused with a personal touch.

This review covers the Glade Suite, which was the most premium unit offered at time of reivew, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

1. Common Areas
The common areas of this property are very warm and inviting. Plenty of rich, natural wood is found throughout the property. The check-in desks are actually tucked away a bit, so you don't really notice them when you walk about the foyer.

Getting to the Glade Suite requires walking down a very well lit hallway, which ends up in an area of only a few rooms (presumably all the more prestigious suites). This was very "privée", as it physically separated these units from the rest of the resort's accommodations.

2. Living Space
The living room of the Glade Suite certainly is stunning. Three leather couches surround a gas fireplace, with numerous sitting chairs and a full dining room table and chairs also in the space. The entrance area was exceptionally appreciated, with plenty of space for shoes and other outdoor equipment. The floors were hard wood, and there were double french doors leading out to the private patio. Windows and views are obviously the highlight here, with plenty of ability to look outside.

Ceiling height was also rather generous, and allowed for a second set of windows.

3. Bedrooms
The master bedroom is on a second level, accessible via stairs from the living room.

Once upstairs, a large double french door entryway reveals the en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and master bedroom.

The walk-in closet is very large, with plenty of room for baggage storage, clothes, shoes, and anything else you brought along.

The master bedroom features a king size four post bed, another gas fireplace, television, desk, and plenty of room.

The bed was very comfortable, and the entire space was very iniviting, cozy, and spacious. The spaciousness is one of the highlights of this entire suite - there is plenty of it and it would be exceptionally difficult to feel "cramped" here.

The second bedroom is on the main level, adjacent to the living room. This bedroom features a king size bed, television, and plenty of closet / wardrobe space.

4. Bathrooms
There were two bathrooms. One was upstairs in the master bedroom, and one is downstairs, adjacent to the second bedroom. Both bathrooms features stand up tiled showers with glass doors and walls, along with the typical fixtures. The upstairs bathroom also has a full size bathtub, albeit it is not jetted.

Both bathrooms featured premium amenities from L'Occitane en Provence, a luxury brand from France. L'Occitane products are highly regarded, and these amenities were certainly well appreciated.

5. Cleanliness
This is one area where the suite was, unfortunately, a bit lacking. There were numerous stains on the carpets, in the bedrooms as well as on the stairs.

And, while not a "cleanliness" issue per se, the hardwood floors have seen some better days. There weren't many spots where you couldn't see deep, unsightly scratches.

Aside from these two items, everything was very clean. Bathrooms were spotless, linens and towels were crisp white, and the small kitchen area was tidy and clean. The issues noted above would appear to be more related to the age and use of the suite, and not a lack of cleaning by staff.

6. Amenities
This resort has quite a few amenities available for guests.

There was an outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness centre. These facilities appeared to be in good state of repair, and were all of the expected size.

One notable amenity available to guests is the courtesy shuttle, which will take you right into Whistler's village centre. This can come in handy, as parking in Whistler's village centre is neither free, and can sometimes be hard to find during busier times.

The resort is located directly on a lake, hence its name sake, Nita Lake Lodge. There is a private dock that is for the exclusive use of guests staying at the resort, where you can borrow kayaks and other water sport equipment. In addition, you can also borrow bicycles.

7. Noise
There was very little noise or disturbance to report. This particular suite is physically situated away from the standard guest rooms, and as such, noise would not have been expected.

8. Parking
The resort has a large underground parking garage, with EV chargers for those folks driving Electric Vehicles. At time of writing, parking fees were $20.00 per night for self parking.

9. Staff interactions
The staff at Nita Lake Lodge were very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They were able to facilitate an early check-in, which cannot be guaranteed in advance. Borrowing amenities like bicycles and kayaks is also done through the guest services team, who again were very pleasant to deal with.

10. Location
While not directly inside Whistler's village centre, Nita Lake Lodge is set directly on Nita Lake, it's namesake. While not technically a "private" lake, it none the less feels very exclusive, and there is absolutely less crowding in this area of Whistler. Views of the surrounding mountains are unquestionably breathtaking.

13. Final Thoughts
Nita Lake Lodge is a premier resort destination in Whistler, British Columbia. The property is situated in an amazing lakeside location, with breathtaking views of mountains. The premium Glade Suite is a beautifully designed, large space that is very easy to relax in. The only notable draw back to the property is the wear and tear that's occurred that hasn't yet been addressed. None the less, LuxuryReview.ca absolutely RECOMMENDS Nita Lake Lodge.
